Why Rush?

When I came to JMU, I wanted nothing to do with Greek Life.  I believed that all Fraternities were just crazy, drunken groups that party and continue to build a bad rep (aka Animal House).  When AEPi rushed me, I was very hesitant to get involved because of my feelings about Greeks at the time.  Before I knew it I was offered a bid, and decided to go against my feelings, and accepted it.  Saying yes to that bid was one of the greatest decisions I have ever made.  Throughout my time in AEPi, I have made bonds with brothers that I know will last a lifetime.  No matter the situation, whether big or small, there has always been someone there to help me get over my hump, and get my life back on track.

To me, being a brother means that you are always willing to help out those in need.  Being a brother means that you are going to put the Fraternity before yourself.  Being a brother means that are always looking out for your fellow brothers, and do whatever you can to always be there for them.  AEPi is a commitment for a lifetime.  Being a brother means that you carry the letters Alpha, Epsilon, and Pi in your heart for your entire life, and always bleed Blue and Gold for this Fraternity and for your brothers.
